UPDF stage demo on fifteenth constitutional amendment’s first anniversary
This day marks the first anniversary of the passing of the Fifteenth amendment to the constitution of Bangladesh, which imposes Bengali nationalism on non-Bengali nationalities of the country.
UPDF staged demonstrations throughout the CHT amid obstructions by army and police in Matiranga, Ramgarh, Manikchari and Mahalchari Upazilas in Khagrachari district, and by Santu group in Baghaichari Upazila of Rangamati district.

UPDF marks 14th founding anniversary
The Party took up a number of programmes from 24 – 26 December to observe its 14th founding anniversary. These included rally, children’s procession, friendship football match, discussion meetings, tea party and view exchange meetings, hoisting the party flags at conspicuous public places, hanging banner and festoons and playing revolutionary songs at its offices.
In Naniachar of Rangamati district, the army led by SCO Obaidul and Shahadat snatched two flags of the Party hung at Upazila Sadar and the Passenger Shed, while in Bormachari of Khagrachari district, army personnel led by Captain Mehedi from Khiram camp pulled down and took away eight flags from various places including Bormachari Bazar.
Children’s processions were held in Khagrachari Sadar, Mahalchari and Naniachar, while hundreds of people took part in a rally in Guimara. On the other hand, a friendship football match provided much amusement to the people in Baghaichari.
