February 20, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chattogram units of the DYF and PCP staged a demonstration to protest against the killing of Tushar Chakma, a HSC examinee, by members of the Reformist faction of the PCJSS at Naranghia of Khagrachari town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another protest rally was organized in Dhaka the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 01, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PCP, DYF and HWF staged a demonstration in front of the national press club in Dhaka to protest against the arrest of Ananda Praksh Chakma, a central committee member of the UPDF, by Rapid Action Battalion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 08, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill Women\u2019s Federation held a rally in front of the national press club in Dhaka in observance of its 31st<\/sup> founding anniversary as well as the International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speakers called for united resistance to sexual violence against women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another rally was organized in Chattogram by HWF and CHT Nari Sangh to mark the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 26, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Workers\u2019 Democratic Front, Hill Students\u2019 Council, Hill Women\u2019s Federation and Democratic Youth Forum staged a demonstration in front of Raju Sculpture on Dhaka University campus to demand that the government takes steps to find Mikel Chakma, a spokesman of the UPDF, who disappeared on April 19 while he was on his way to Dhaka from Kanchpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 11, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HWF organized a roundtable discussion to mark 23 years since the abduction of its leader Kalpana Chakma in 1996. Leaders of several political parties took part in the discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, at a rally in Chattoram organized on 9 June to mark Kalpana Chakma\u2019s disappearance, the Hill Women\u2019s Federation and CHT Nari Sangha had demanded punishment for Lt. Ferdous and others responsible for her abduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 28, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A solidarity rally was organized in Dhaka to demand government actions to establish the whereabouts of Mikel Chakma, who was subjected to enforced disappearance on 19 April while on his way to Dhaka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four Jumma organizations \u2013 namely United Workers\u2019 Democratic Front, Hill Students\u2019 Council, Hill Women\u2019s Federation and Democratic Youth Forum \u2013 organized the rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 27, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dhaka branch of the PCP staged a demonstration to protest against the killing of three UPDF activists in a fake encounter in Dighinala, Khagrachari. Similar protests were also held in Chattogram (formerly Chittagong) on 26 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September 14, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chattogram units of the PCP and DYF held a rally in the city to protest land grabbing and dispossession of the Jumma people of their lands in Bandarban. The speakers called upon the government to take stringent measures against land grabbers and to recognize the traditional and customary land laws of the Jumma people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 8 \u2013 15, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UPDF Khageachari unit implemented a week-long programme of providing assistance to farmers whereby its members voluntarily helped them in harvesting paddy during the winter season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

December 07, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PCP, HWF and DYF staged a rally in Chattogram to protest against the illegal occupation of land belonging to Marma and Chak comunities of eleven villages in Bandarban by Kyaw Shai Hla Marma, chairman of Bandarban District Council, and Md.
